Learning Method: What is the difference between an Online Course (Live or Self Paced), In Person Workshop/Class, Printable Lesson and Custom Class?

I strive to offer loads of different class types to best fit your needs, schedule and learning style! Here is a brief description of each type of class style I offer:
  • Online "Live" Course/Class: These classes are held online over Zoom. The classes are highly interactive where we talk through the topic together, then I have a video directly pointed at my art table so we can draw/paint/create together. I talk through the entire process step by step so you can follow along and ask questions or provide comments along the way. At the end I leave time to review students' artworks and answer any questions. (Note: Once the class is over, a video of the session is provided for the students to watch at their own pace.)
  • Online "Self Paced" Course/Class: These classes are taught online via downloadable materials (like templates, step by step sheets, background material) as well as through videos where you can follow along to learn how to create the artwork/illustration. I welcome email 1:1 email communication if a student has questions or would like me to review their work.
  • In Person Workshop or Class: These classes are held at a specific, physical location at a specific date and time. They are highly interactive and I strive to work with each individual student to help them with their creative projects.
  • Printable Lesson: These lessons are taught via downloadable materials such as background information, step by step drawings, templates and other downloadable material.
  • Custom Classes/Workshops: I love to cater my classes specifically to your event. These classes are truly one-of-a-kind and highly engaging and interactive. They can be offered online or in person depending on the situation.

Learning Method: Which type of class (online, workshop, printable) is best for me?

The answer to this question is a personal one. I strive to make all my classes engaging, and interactive, regardless of whether it is online or in person. To figure out which type is best for you, be sure to read the details under each class to understand the requirements. Here are things to consider:
  • art difficulty level
  • art supply requirement
  • technical savviness (online classes are great for those who are comfortable watching videos, accessing Zoom, downloading materials, clicking links, etc.)

Online Classes & Courses: What is a "live class" vs. a "self paced" class?

See above under "Learning Method: What is the difference between an online course (live or self paced), in person Workshop/class, printable Lesson and Custom Class?"

Online Courses & Classes: I am not able to make the "Live" class time, can I get a refund?

See below under Refund Policy for details.

Online Classes & Courses: How to Join a Zoom Meeting

Printable Lesson: What is a printable lesson and how do I use it?

Printable Lessons are a fun and easy way to create art at your own pace. Once purchased, you are able to download material such as step by step instructions to creating your own artwork.

Art Supplies: Are art supplies included in the course?

Art supplies are NOT included with the purchase of a course. Each class may have different art supply requirements (under each class is a list of suggested art supplies). If you don't own the exact art supplies, not to worry. Many classes allow you to experiment with a wide variety of mediums if you desire.

Art Supplies: What art supplies do I need?

Each class or lesson will specify the exact art supplies I use to create the art work. Of course, you can easily create the same project using different art medium if you'd like! The most common art supplies I use are: a black pen, water colors, water brush, water color paper, and a white gel pen.

Art Supplies: Do you have recommendations on what art supplies to buy?

Here is a link that outlines some of my favorite art supplies that I commonly use in my classes:
I do sometimes vary my supplies, and will list the ones I am using in the "Art Supply List" under each class description.
