Class Summary

Have you ever wanted to write a fictional or non-fiction story based on your travel adventures but don’t know where to start? Have you ever wanted to create a hand made book, but don’t know how to? In my Write a Parisian Story and Create a Mini Book class I will teach you how to craft a uniquely Parisian story, then write and illustrate your tale in a hand made mini book. 

The provided class workbook contains several worksheets to help you craft your story, from character to story arc. It also has detailed information about our story prompt and Parisian location including several pages of illustrations and photos you can use to inspire you when writing and/or illustrating your book. In the end you will have created and "published" a one-of-a-kind, handmade Parisian book!

What You Will Learn

Tools, Tips and Worksheets to Learning How to Write a Unique Story :
This class provides an overview of different styles and genres of writing from flash fiction to short novels. The provided printable workbook also outlines several tools for authors of all levels to explore their individual writing style and craft a unique story in a simple, easy to understand way.

How to Create Several Different Types of Hand Made Books:
The class outlines many different ways to create a hand made book depending on the length and style or genre of your story.

How to Use a Prompt from Paris to Inspire Your Writing & Illustrations
The content in this class provides a virtual "walk" through of the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, the setting and prompt for our story (if you choose to use one.) There are several photographs and illustrations to inspire your writing and illustration if you choose to add imagery to your book.

  • 17 page printable workbook filled with a wide variety of writing tools, tips and worksheets to craft your story.
  • Several pages of inspirational photography and illustrations of Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, France to inspire your writing.
  • Over 5 different step by step videos to follow along and write/illustrate your own story including a hand made book.

Art Supply List

Below is a list of art supplies* you will need to complete the classes:
  • Pad of Watercolor papers (preferably a 9”x12” pad or something similar)
  • Watercolor set (any type, from children’s set to professional will do!)
  • Watercolor brush (I use a water brush, but an everyday brush will work too.)
  • Black waterproof pen (I prefer Micron: size 01, 03 and 05)
  • hole punch, string or ribbon if desired
*these supplies are not included.

Skill Level

This course is open to all skill levels. I will break down step by step how to complete the project. For more advanced artists, I welcome you adding your own personal flair to the lessons.

Conclusion
