In this art class we will look at 3 different regions of the world and discover different species of flowers that flourish in these climates. With our list, we will then draw and watercolor 3 beautiful illustrations we can use to make our own personalized cards, stationery or artwork.

Class Summary

The world is made up of many different climates where different varieties of vegetation, trees and flowers thrive. In this art class we will focus on three varied climates,  Mediterranean (specifically South of France), tropical (specifically Hawaii) and marina/coastal (specifically England) and learn how to draw specific flowers that flourish in these regions. We will create compositions that we can use for personal projects such as an invitation, or note cards.

Class Goal

By the end of the course you will not only know a little more about the different climates of the world, but will also be well versed in drawing and watercoloring a host of new flowers. You will also be able to use your artwork in personal projects and take the knowledge you've gained while you explore the world around you. You may discover a bunch of native flowers right in your own yard! 

Class Details

Skill Level

This course is open to all skill levels. I will break down step by step how to draw and paint all the flowers throughout the course. For more advanced artists, I welcome you adding your own personal flair to your artwork.

Art Supply List

  • 3 sheets of Watercolor paper (2 in sizes around 5"x7" and 1 sized around 8"x10")
  • Watercolor set (any type, from children’s set to professional will do!)
  • Watercolor brush (I use a water brush, but an everyday brush will work too.)
  • Black waterproof pen (I prefer Micron: size 01, 03 and 05)
