Join me on Tuesday, August 10th, 2021 from 10:30am- 12pm for an in person Creative Wanderlust Experience where we will gather along the Poudre River at Lions Open Space park and celebrate the history of Fort Collins, Colorado creating summer camp-inspired logos.

Our Morning Begins...

Our experience begins with a few engaging wanderlust warm-up exercises talking about the history of Fort Collins and many of the names of the surrounding area.

As we walk along the river, we will also engage in storytelling of our most memorable summer camp and outdoor experiences, whether we spent weeks away at sleep away camp or spent the night under the stars in our own back yards.

Crafting a Playful Logo...

Following our stroll, we will then dive into our main activity of creating our own original camp-inspired logo/illustration containing memories and details from our own lives.

With loads of examples and styles to choose from, we will playfully doodle, draw and watercolor a personalized image that can represent anything from celebrating your love of Fort Collins, or commemorating your own family and your adventures.

Personalized instructions will be offered throughout to teach us how to capture the story we want to tell.

Participants will leave inspired by our outdoorsy morning experience and with a colorful illustrative memory of their adventures along the Cache la Poudre river.

Event Details

Skill Level

This experience is open to all skill levels. As we explore this location, and engage in creative exercises I will provide approachable instructions to help everyone follow along no matter their ability. I will also provide step by step handouts and be available for individual help throughout the event as we doodle, sketch and paint.

For more advanced artists, I welcome you adding your own personal flair to our activity.

Art Supply List

All art supplies will be provided for use while on location.

We will be using:

black pen
watercolor pencils
water brushes
watercolors

You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Health & Safety

This event will be held outdoors and requires some standing and a small amount of walking along a paved path. We will be doing our main activity on picnic benches, so there will be a place to sit. Weather at this time of year can vary from hot and dry to possible rain, so please bring a light sweater/jacket and/or sunscreen and a hat depending on the conditions.

Being mindful of COVID, I will defer to all county (Larimar County) and state (Colorado) pandemic rules regarding mask usage on the day of the class. Personally, I request that non-vaccinated participants (and vaccinated participants if desired) have a mask on hand as needed.
