What It’s Like to Live Between Two Places
People often ask what it feels like to move between Paris and California.
My answer is always the same: It teaches you how to notice.
To see the way daylight shifts between 2 locations.
To hear the sounds of the neighborhood.
To observe small local details, individual and unique for each place.
Postcard Story: Windows in Paris
Windows are one of my favorite subjects — everyday scenes that hold endless stories.
From my handwritten postcard:
"I love to notice the windows when wandering a place. What would the view be like to look out? What's the view looking in? What's on the sill - a cat, a plant, some laundry drying... Windows offer a peek into a location that seem so familiar yet new at the same time. Bises, Betsy"
Paris windows are characters, each one a little world of its own.
